Cobalt: This mineral works with copper to promote assimilation of iron. A cobalt atom resides in the center of the vitamin B12 molecule. As the best sources are animal products, cobalt deficiency occurs most frequently in vegetarians.
Cobalt is a micronutrient (need hardly any, but is vitally important) needed for Vit B12 synthesis. Helps formation of red blood cells; maintenance of nervous system. May be missing in strict vegetarians – need more when making another person or when correcting old imbalances.
Eat organ meats – as they are rich sources of intrinsic factors to allow B synthesis.
